Wonderful Kingsbarns

Hi again friends, bloggers and golfers,

I'm delighted to again be able to start the golfing season with the wonderful St. Andrews Golf week. Following a lovely meal last night to catch up with old friends, we started the week at Kingsbarns. Kingsbarns is a fantastic course, where there's a sea view from every hole and it was at it's very best today in bright sunshine.

I played today with Matt and Mark from South Africa and Jesper from Denmark. We had a lovely game today with only a hint of a shower at one point but it quickly passed.

I had a great caddy today. Jim looked after me very well and provided good advice on lines, putts and swing tips too.

We settled down to our fish and chips afterwards and reflected on a wonderful start to the week. We look forward to more to come !

Bye for now,

Kate.

Burns Night at WPGC

Hi Friends and Bloggers,

Welcome to the first golfing action of 2011, which in fact wasn't on the course at all. It was the Annual Burns Night Supper at Wimbledon Park.

We were piped down the path to the clubhouse and enjoyed a wonderful meal, featuring of course the Haggis, which in turn was piped into the dining room in traditional style. Here's a flavour of the fun ..

Burns Night wouldn't be complete of course, without Addressing the Haggis, which Davey treated us to in fine style. Here's a clip of his first class performance ..

After dinner we had some poetry readings where we enjoyed some of Burns' finest ...

We finished off the evening in style with some Scottish dancing.. (Eat your heart out Srictly! )

A great night's fun and a great way to start of the 2011 season .. granted without striking a ball !

Thanks to all at the club for a wonderful evening.

Bye till next time,

Martina & Kate.
